Weekly Winners - Seasonal Sketch Challenge #302

The Design Team enjoyed seeing how our sketches from 2018 were turned into lovely clean and simple seasonal cards!  It appeared that a number of our usual challenge participants were busy with holiday preparations last week because we had fewer entries into our Seasonal Sketch Challenge than we've had in previous years.  Unfortunately, because of the limited number of entries, we can award only two cards as Weekly Winners this week.  Imagine a drum roll... Here they are, in order of entry into the challenge:

Great minds apparently think alike, because Lori and Jane used the same sketch!  :)  Ladies, please feel welcome to copy our winners' badge and display it on your blog:

Thank you to everyone who played along in our challenges during 2018!  We wish all of you a joyous holiday season, and we hope to see you creating with us again in the new year!  Be sure to join us on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 as we start another year of clean and simple colour and sketch challenges.

Season's Greetings!

Hello, crafting friends!  It's Patricia here, the blog manager of CC&S.

On behalf of the CAS Colours & Sketches Design Team, I want to thank all of our challenge players for the support you give us by joining in our challenges each week.  *YOU* are what keeps our blog going, and we are extremely grateful for all of you!  We truly enjoy seeing your creative takes on our color combinations, sketches, and Timeless Tuesday double challenges.

We would like to wish the happiest of holidays to all of our followers, and the best of everything to you in the coming year.  No matter what festivities you celebrate, we hope you will feel the love, wonder, peace, joy, and magic of the holiday season.

We will be taking some time off over the next few weeks so that our participants and our design team can spend this special time with their families and loved ones.  Look for our next challenge to start on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.  Until then, keep crafting, and take care!

Weekly Winners - Seasonal Colours Challenge #301

Thank you to everyone who got into the holiday spirit with us in last week's challenge!  The intent of our Seasonal Colours Challenge was to have our participants turn our colour challenges from 2018 into festive CAS cards, but we enjoyed seeing what everyone created even if our challenge specifics weren't quite reflected in the entries.

The Design Team has chosen the following cards as our Weekly Winners.  In order of entry into the challenge, we congratulate:

Wonderful job, ladies! Please feel welcome to copy our winners' badge and display it on your blog:

Challenge #302 - Seasonal Sketch

Hello, crafting friends!  We have another festive challenge for you this week. This time we're giving a seasonal spin to our sketch challenges from the past year:

You can view the graphics from all of our sketch challenges by clicking on the Past Sketch Challenges tab at the top of the page.  The ones from 2018 start at Challenge #254.  Feel free to flip or rotate the sketch when creating your card.  You may also change the shape of your card; if the sketch is drawn as a square, you may manipulate it into a rectangle; if the sketch is drawn as a rectangle, you're allowed to make it into a square.  So long as we can clearly see how the sketch inspired your card, it's all good!

You may make your card for any specific December holiday, or just simply reflect a wintry scene.  If you're from the southern hemisphere, a summery card would be appropriate, too!  Just make sure  you've selected one from 2018!

In your blog post, please be sure to note which sketch you've used for your card, as our Design Team has done below:

Beverley (Challenge #295)

Fiona (Challenge #256)

Jeanne (Challenge #265)

Karen (Challenge #285)

Patricia (Challenge #293)

Samantha

Wei (Challenge #291)

We appreciated the turnout for our recent Design Team call!  We have selected two new team members, and we are excited to introduce them to you today!  Please join us in welcoming them:

Holly (Challenge #276)

YoonYoung (Challenge #269)

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our challenge participants throughout the year.  We enjoy creating with you and we love seeing your artwork each week!

We will be taking a holiday break after this week's challenge so that our challenge followers and our design team can spend time celebrating with their loved ones.  The winners of this week's challenge will be announced on December 21, 2018.  We'll be returning with new challenges on January 8, 2019.

Our challenge requirements are listed in the Challenge Rules tab. Please read them carefully before linking your card. Happy crafting!

Challenge End Time: 6:00 p.m. Eastern U.S. time/11:00 p.m. London U.K. time Monday, December 17, 2018

Challenge #301 - Seasonal Colours

Hello! Here at CAS Colours & Sketches we're getting ready for the upcoming holiday season by revisiting our challenges from the past 11 months and turning them into seasonal creations.  As usual, we're starting off the month with a colour challenge:

We'd like you to choose one of our colour challenges from 2018 and make a card appropriate for the current season.  You can view the graphics from all of our colour challenges by clicking on the Past Colour Challenges tab at the top of the page; the challenges for 2018 start with Challenge #255.

Although we use Stampin' Up colour names for reference, you may use any companies' products for your cards as long as you match our colours as closely as possible. You may also use neutral colours (white, cream, kraft, brown, grey, metallics, or black) for card layers, sentiments, and image outlines.  However, in order to be considered for our Weekly Winners, you must not include any other colours.

You may make your card for any specific December holiday, or just simply show a wintry scene.  If you're from the southern hemisphere, a summery card would reflect your season (and be a refreshing change of pace for those of us living above the equator!).  We do ask that in your blog post, you note which of our colour challenges you've used for your card.  Make sure you've chosen one from 2018!

Here are the seasonal makes from our Design Team:

Beverley (Challenge #264)

Fiona (Challenge #275)

Jeanne (Challenge 266)

Karen (Challenge #270)

Patricia (Challenge #258)

Samantha (Challenge #288)

Wei (Challenge #299)

Since we know this is a busy time for most people, we will have only two challenges this month.  We don't want to short change any of our guest designers from a normal term of four challenges, so we're putting our guest designer program on hold until January.  Next week we'll be turning a sketch challenge from 2018 into a holiday card.  Beginning December 18, we'll take a break and return with new challenges in January 2019.

Our challenge requirements are listed in the Challenge Rules tab. Please read them carefully before linking your card. Happy crafting!

Challenge End Time: 6:00 p.m. Eastern U.S. time/11:00 p.m. London U.K. time Monday, December 10, 2018

Challenge #300 - A Sketch for our Birthday!

Hello, and welcome!  This is our 300th challenge, and our blog turns six years old in a couple of days!  We are celebrating these milestones with our challenge this week.

For this sketch, since it's our 6th birthday, you must use six of any single type of shape - six hearts, or six circles, or six diamonds, for example - stretched along one of the long sides of your card.  Feel free to rotate the sketch on its side or flip it upside-down or mirror-image when creating your card.

Our awesome design team has created the following cards to jump start your creativity:

Patricia

Beverley

Guest Designer - Izzy

Our blog's success is due to those of you who join in our challenges, and we want to show our appreciation by giving away a prize.  One lucky winner whose card meets our challenge requirements will be chosen from our participants in this week's challenge, and will receive an in-stock stamp set of the winner's choice from UnikoUniko Ltd. is a small family-run business based in the United Kingdom, and it specializes in high quality clear photopolymer stamps designed specifically for stampers by an avid stamper.

Thank you, Uniko, for sponsoring our birthday challenge!  The prize winner will be announced on Friday, December 7, 2018 along with our Weekly Winners for this week's challenge.

Our challenge requirements are listed in the Challenge Rules tab. Please read them carefully before linking your card. Happy crafting!
